Police have detained one person after a phoned threat caused a swarm of police activity at Jackson Memorial Hospital for about an hour Friday afternoon, Miami-Dade police said.

Though Jackson never was on lockdown, the hospital told employees to shelter in place as police searched the grounds for anyone who might have made the call. No shots were fired. Miami-Dade police declared the area safe around 3:43 p.m.

Police were concerned because the call came from inside the hospital. The connection between the call and the person being questioned, if any, hasn't been confirmed.
