Retired judge Scott Silverman robbed at gunpoint in Miami Shores

Detectives are looking for a man who robbed a retired judge at gunpoint this week in Miami Shores.

Scott Silverman, who spent more than two decades on the Miami-Dade bench before retiring in 2012, was robbed while getting out of his car late Tuesday afternoon.

The former judge was unharmed, but the robber made off with some of his personal property. Silverman declined to comment Friday.

Silverman spent seven of his nearly 22 years on the bench as a criminal circuit court judge. He was also the official historian for Miami’s Eleventh Judicial Circuit. He is now a mediator.

Anyone with information on the case can call Miami-Dade CrimeStoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
