A dispute at a Checkers burger restaurant in Miami Gardens led to the fatal shooting of a father of three, according to police.

The shooting happened about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday near the Checkers on Northwest 181st Street and Second Avenue, near Miami Gardens Drive.

A stretch of Second Avenue was shut down Wednesday morning as police investigated and the medical examiner removed the body from the middle of the street.

Miami Herald news partner CBS4 identified the dead man as Mark Constantine, 30, a father of three. No one is in custody, and police are seeking answers.

“He was a good dad — did everything for his child. It’s just sad that this has to happen like that,” friend Mike Miller told CBS4.
