Newly released footage shows the suspected drunk-driving crash that killed a Miami pedestrian in March 2017. The accused, Martin Hernandez, 87, has pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial.

Newly released video footage shows a suspected drunk driver sideswiping another car in North Miami-Dade, flipping over and killing a pedestrian walking on the sidewalk.

Prosecutors released the footage Monday in the case of 87-year-old Martin Hernandez, whom police say was drunk when he killed Zachery Baldwin, 41, on March 26 in North Miami-Dade.

Hernandez was drunk by more than double the legal limit, according to prosecutors, when he crashed his gray 2002 Corolla into another car. The video, taken from a nearby gas station, shows the crash between the two cars, but not the impact on Baldwin, who was walking with another man on the sidewalk.

Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to charges of DUI manslaughter, vehicular homicide and reckless driving. His defense lawyer could not immediately reached for comment.
