Man loads shopping cart with items that aren’t his. Police are now using video to find him

A man walked into a storage closet at a Miami apartment building, loaded up a shopping cart with items including a power drill and a computer, and walked away.

The problem?

Police say the items weren't his.

On Tuesday, police released surveillance footage of the man who detectives say entered the closet at Camacol Towers, 1401 W. Flagler St., just before 11:30 p.m. June 28.

According to police, a building employee noticed displaced items and checked surveillance footage.

The video showed an unknown man prowling, police said.

After loading up the cart, detectives say the man walked to his SUV and loaded up the car with the stolen goods before taking off.

The man is described as being 30- to 40-years-old; 5 feet, 6 inches to 6 feet tall; with a full beard and short black hair. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami Police Department’s Burglary Unit at 305-603-6030 or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS (8477).
