790 pounds of cocaine discovered at Miami River
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers discovered more than 790 pounds of cocaine on a vessel at the Miami River on Feb. 27.
A total of 310 packages of cocaine was uncovered in a concealed compartment inside a ballast tank, a compartment inside the boat that holds water. CBP officers drilled through a layer of concrete to unveil the hidden compartment, based on information provided by the Miami Border Enforcement Security Task Force and Homeland Security Investigations, the CBP said in a release.
