Three men showed up at the Northside District police station a little after 8 p.m. Sunday with an unusual story: They were driving along I-95 when someone opened fire on their SUV and two of them were shot.
The men told police they didn’t know if they were being followed and they didn’t know anyone was taking aim on their vehicle.
The two men who were shot are Gerald Snell, 25 and a local rapper whose real name is Rubin McFadden, but who goes by the name Khaotic305. The man driving the car, song writer and producer Mark Wolff Jr., was unharmed, a relative confirmed.
Police said Snell was shot in the upper torso, McFadden in the leg. Both were taken to area hospitals in stable condition.

The men told police they were heading south on I-95 in a blue Toyota 4Runner just before the 81st Street exit when they realized they’d been hit. They didn’t say how they found the police station, which is about a block west of the exit ramp.
State records show Snell was arrested on charges of robbery with a deadly weapon in 2013.
