Man found shot to death at Larchmont Park in Northwest Miami-Dade

A 48-year-old man was found shot to death near two Northwest Miami-Dade public schools on Wednesday, and as of Thursday evening, Miami-Dade detectives don’t have any leads.

What they do know is that Freddy Rijo-Contreras was fatally shot, his body found at Larchmont Park, 406 NW 85th St. in West Little River. The park sits a few blocks from Charles R Hadley Elementary School and Horace Mann Middle School, just off Interstate 95.

Miami-Dade Police Homicide Bureau investigators ask anyone with information about the shooting contact Detective Jonathan Grossman at 305-471-2400. To remain anonymous, call Miami-Dade Crimestoppers at 305-471-8477. If a tip to Crimestoppers leads to the arrest of the suspect or suspects involved, the caller may be eligible to receive up to $3,000.
