A tow truck operator who had just unlocked the front gates of a business Monday morning was surprised by an intruder waiting inside who pointed a gun at him, demanded cash and then fired the weapon.
The 55-year-old tow truck driver, whose name hadn’t been released by 11:30 a.m. Monday, was shot in the arm and was in stable condition. The shooter got away.
“He was confronted by a subject inside part of the towing yard,” said Miami-Dade Detective Jennifer Capote.
Police said the man was opening up S.A.O Towing at 2950 SW 71st Ave. when he was confronted by the intruder, who police believe hopped the fence to get inside. He made off with a gold chain and cash.
