A man was shot in the abdomen Monday as a AAA worker changed the dead battery in the man’s older-model gold Mercedes, which was parked outside a Little Haiti restaurant, according to police.
The man and two other people finished eating lunch at Philly Grub, 99 NW 54th St., and walked out to find that the car wouldn't start, police said.
The three were standing near the restaurant when two young men — who had their faces covered — approached them. At least one had a gun, said Rene Pimental, a Miami police spokesman.
One of the three was shot and rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he was in surgery. The victim's gun was missing, Pimental said. The AAA worker was not injured and didn’t see the shooting, police said.
