Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies showed up at the mother’s apartment, on the 3000 block of Northeast Fifth Avenue, around 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 24 to find baby Mackenzie Nevarez unresponsive. Mackenzie spent four days on a ventilator at Broward Health Medical Center before she died.
