A man who was riding a bicycle through Little Havana on Wednesday afternoon was shot multiple times in the back before getting off the bike, scrambling down Northwest First Street and collapsing.
The man, not named but believed to be in his early 20s, was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition. Police said he was undergoing surgery early Wednesday night.
Miami Police Detective Kenia Fallat said police were interviewing possible witnesses and still don’t have a good description of the shooter’s vehicle or which direction he fled. The incident happened about 5:30 p.m. in front of an apartment complex at 1860 NW First St.
Fallat said anyone with information should contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
