Three people injured in violent crash on the Palmetto Expressway

Three people were injured Tuesday night in a violent crash between a mini-van and tractor trailer on the Palmetto Expressway, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

The accident happened in the Southbound lanes of 826 in between Northwest 36th Street and Northwest 58th Street.

According to fire rescue, the driver of the tractor trailer lost control and hit the minivan.

When the crew from Engine 48 arrived they found the driver of the mini-van partially pinned under the dashboard. There were two other passengers in the van as well. All three were taken to a nearby hospital.

The Palmetto was temporarily shut down for the investigation.
