The Miami-Dade Police Department, Robbery Bureau is investigating an armed home invasion robbery, where a female was confronted by a subject inside her residence.

A 60-year-old woman came home one morning to an unwanted surprise — a man in her bedroom.

According to police, the woman arrived at her home, which is near the intersection of Northwest First Lane and Northwest 109th Place in Fontainebleau, just before 9:30 a.m. June 4.

When she saw the man, police said, she tried to leave, but the “subject prevented her from escaping by grabbing her.”

“The subject proceeded to punch and choke the victim,” police said in a news release. “He then armed himself with a knife and forced the victim back into her bedroom.”

Before leaving, the man, police say, “bound the victim to the bedroom dresser.”

He then left in the woman’s 2015 Toyota 4Runner.

Police on Wednesday released surveillance video that shows the man leaving the home.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS (8477).
