ArtSouth, a not-for-profit organization, has invited Miami Dade College, Global Ties Miami and a group of dignitaries from the United Kingdom to complete a mural at 1 p.m. Aug. 2 in the front of the Gibson-Bethel Community Center, 5800 SW 66th St. in South Miami.
The mural project was halted due to bad weather during its original painting in November. ArtSouth will host an international service learning mural-completion project at the wall. The project includes youth from South Miami Parks and Recreation, leaders from Miami Dade College, local artists, various professionals and community leaders from the United Kingdom and United States.
Global Ties Miami supports the travel of 10 British professionals and community leaders specializing in the promotion of volunteerism and social action. Program participants include: a member of parliament, civil servants, volunteer specialists, educators, and private sector representatives.
