South Miami Middle School club, police partake in Step Up Shoe Drive
A South Miami Middle School club, The Power of One, donated more than 50 new pairs of shoes Wednesday to students at Ludlam Elementary.
The South Miami Police department worked with the students to hand out shoes to youngsters identified by their school’s administration and their teachers as students deserving of recognition.
Each student in Roberto Rabelo’s club bought a new pair of shoes in the Step Up Shoe Drive. The club previously worked with police in donating stuffed animals in December, as part of a domestic violence awareness campaign, and donated blankets to the homeless in January.
