South Miami authorities are searching for a man accused of going on a Target shopping spree after snatching a woman’s wallet from her purse earlier this month.

At about 11 a..m. on Friday, Jan. 10, the suspect went into a ballet clothing store in the 7300 block of Southwest 57th Avenue and asked an employee if the business had any job openings, police said. While the woman was distracted, the man looked through her purse and ran off with her wallet.

A few minutes later, South Miami police said surveillance footage caught the man at a nearby Target store on South Dixie Highway making several purchases with the woman’s credit cards.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Detective Fernando Bosch at 305-668-2488.
