South Miami’s annual backpack giveaway on Saturday

South Miami’s annual backpack giveaway starts at noon Saturday at the Gibson-Bethel Community Center.

The parks and recreation department event at 5800 SW 66th St. has a limit of one backpack per child. Children must be present for the giveaway. The event ends at 2 p.m. Space is limited.

About 200 backpacks will be distributed for children ages 4 to 17. For more information, contact the parks and recreation department at 305-668-3876 or parks@southmiamifl.gov.
