On Friday the village of Pinecrest will host a workshop to educate the business community about the Zika virus, measures to prevent mosquito breeding and how the town will handle code enforcement.

No cases have been reported in Pinecrest.

The workshop will be at 10 a.m. at Evelyn Greer Park, 8200 SW 124th St.

Topics to be covered include general Zika virus awareness, favored mosquito breeding spots, preventative measures, statutory requirements, the village’s code enforcement efforts and how they will affect local businesses.

The town is encouraging commercial property owners, property management representatives, solid waste haulers providing services to commercial businesses, and interested members of the Pinecrest business community to attend.
