Pinecrest residents can now file a service request, check when the bus is coming or watch village council meetings all from the convenience of their smartphones with the just-launched MyPinecrest application.

Users can download the app for free at the App Store for iPhones or from Google Play for Androids, and need only an email address to register an account.

The app generates a case number for each service request, routes it to appropriate staff and updates the user every step of the way — when the request is received, processed, and completed. When filing the request users can include pictures they’ve snapped with their phone.

Other options in the app allow residents to display the current location of the Pinecrest People Mover, and to get estimates in real time of when the bus should arrive at any given stop.

Among other things, users can also track the status of any service request filed, report non-emergency issues, check the village’s schedule of events, and find contact information for the village’s departments.
