A flood advisory was issued for South Miami, Pinecrest and east Kendall Tuesday afternoon after heavy rain soaked the area, according to the National Weather Service.
Meteorologist Robert Molleda said heavy rain also drenched Northeast Miami-Dade near the Golden Glades interhcange, North Miami Beach and Aventura, but an advisory had not yet been issued.
“We are expecting much of the same for the rest of the afternoon,” Molleda said. “There is already some water on the streets.”
While there have been no reports of major flooding, Molleda said it’s possible.
At about 4:45 p.m., the National Weather Service reported that radar showed what looks to be a water spout over Biscayne Bay east of Deering Estate.
South Florida could also be in for a soaking Wednesday as a cold front moves across the Florida Peninsula, Molleda said.
