As part of its 20th anniversary festivities, the Village of Pinecrest will be celebrating with a free picnic and a parade on Saturday.
The parade will begin at 10 a.m. along Southwest 124th Street, and will travel from Palmetto Elementary School (74th Avenue) to Evelyn Greer Park (82nd Avenue).
“The parade will feature entertainment and floats by local schools, businesses, community groups and scouts. There will even be a few surprises along the parade route,” said spokeswoman Michelle Hammontree in a statement. “All attendees are encouraged to take photos and post on social media with the #pinecrest20.”
The parade will be followed by a community picnic with hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks at 11 a.m. at the park at 8200 SW 124th St. There will also be music and activities for children.
