Miami-Dade Fire is investigating intense blaze in Pinecrest home
Miami-Dade fire crews battled a two-alarm fire in a large single-family Pinecrest home early Tuesday morning.
The “intense” blaze forced firefighters to attack the flames from the outside after the roof collapsed, said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue spokeswoman Michelle Fayed.
“It was a pretty significant fire,” Fayed said.
Firefighters were called to the blaze at 6685 SW 94th St. just before 2 a.m., Fayed said. According to property records, the eight-bedroom, five-bathroom home was owned by Yanelis Figueroa and Norge Farinas.
No one was home at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries, Fayed said.
Investigators were on scene all day trying to determine the cause of the blaze.
On Monday, there was a fire only a few blocks away, said Fayed. The fires, however, were not related.
Fayed said Monday’s blaze at Southwest 67th Avenue and 94th Street began because of the homeowner’s cigarette.
