Bike ride to commemorate fifth anniversary of the Haiti earthquake
North Miami will host its fifth annual Get-in-Gear bike ride this weekend. The ride will serve as a commemoration of the 2010 Haiti earthquake anniversary and a fundraiser for relief programs.
The ride will begin 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at the MOCA Plaza, 770 NE 125th St. Registration starts at 7 a.m. The round-trip length of the ride is about 10 miles.
Riders are encouraged to travel at their own pace and take breaks if necessary. Helmets are required for any riders that are 16 years old and younger.
Color of Hope, a non-profit organization focused on improving quality of life for Haitians, has partnered with the city in fund-raising efforts. For more information on the ride call 305-895-9815 or 305-895-9818.
