A 17-year-old boy was killed Monday at a bus stop shooting just outside North Miami Beach.
The victim was approached by a group of people while he was sitting at the bus stop around 12:35 p.m. in the 16400 block of Northeast 15th Avenue, Miami-Dade police said. One of the suspects pulled out a gun and began shooting several times, hitting the 17-year-old and a woman nearby. The group then ran away.
The teen died at the scene and the woman, who was shot in the leg, was airlifted by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Her condition was not known.
Three people matching the description put out by North Miami Beach police were found riding in a jitney bus and were detained for questioning.
