Pedestrian struck, killed by Brightline train in North Miami Beach, police say

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Brightline train in North Miami Beach early Tuesday, police said.

It happened on the tracks near the busy intersection of Northeast 163rd Street and Biscayne Boulevard, according to North Miami Beach police. Lanes in the area were blocked for several hours during the investigation.

Helicopter video taken by NBC6 showed a yellow tarp covering the body next to the railroad tracks, with the stopped Brightline train nearby.

Police say the person who died was a man.

No other information was immediately available.
