A fight began inside the celebrity soul food restaurant. Outside, cops say a man was shot

What began as a fight inside the North Miami restaurant The Licking ended with a shooting outside in the street, North Miami police said Tuesday night.

The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. at the restaurant at 12490 NW Seventh Ave. The restaurant, which markets itself as Soul Food to the Stars, also has locations in Miami Beach and in Broward.

According to police, two men got into an argument inside “and it got physical,” said police spokeswoman Natalie Buissereth.

The argument spilled into the street and a 21-year-old man opened fire, police said. The 24-year-old victim was shot in his right leg and taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in stable condition, Buissereth said. Neither man was identified.

Buissereth said detectives were questioning the alleged shooter.

“As far as I know, he is cooperating,” Buissereth said.

No other information was immediately available.
