Suspect caught in fatal shooting at Miami Gardens gas station
Miami Gardens police have a suspect in custody after a shooter walked into a gas station convenience store and fatally shot a man early Saturday.
Police said the victim, 22-year-old Jared Smith, walked into the store at the Exxon gas station, 16850 NW 27th Ave., at about 12:45 a.m. Saturday.
The shooter walked in, shot Smith in the head and then ran away from the gas station.
The shooter, who was described as 5-10, with a thin build and wearing blue shorts and a black shirt, was taken into custody shortly after running. Police did not immediately identify the suspect.
