Man hospitalized after stabbing in Northwest Miami Dade

Miami Dade police are investigating a stabbing that happened Tuesday afternoon after a confrontation between two unknown men.

According to police, the quarrel took place around 5:30 p.m. Officers were dispatched to Northwest 195th Street and 57th Avenue shortly thereafter.

The victim – whom police have not yet identified – was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital. His condition, according to police, is still unknown.

Alvaro Zabaleta, a Miami Dade police spokesman, said the suspect entered into a car and fled the scene, but couldn’t give any more information.

“It’s too early in the investigation to provide specific details,” Zabaleta said. He said police are still waiting to interview the hospitalized man.
