Is Miami the most expensive ticket on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour? Here’s a comparison

Taylor Swift has announced the end game for her record-setting, 152-date Eras Tour that’s now in Europe and opens its last leg of the North American Tour with three October dates at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.

The last show of the nearly two-year trek, unless the pop star pulls a surprise “expanded tour” announcement by the time you read this, is marked for Sunday, Dec. 8, at Vancouver, Canada’s BC Place Stadium.

In addition to the opening Miami and closing Vancouver, Swift has stops in the middle in New Orleans and Indianapolis.

The Eras Tour is officially sold out, but tickets can be had on the secondary market StubHub site. This led us to wonder: What city is the most expensive?

Miami? New Orleans? Indianapolis?

Or is it in Canada? Becaase, as Swifties know, tickets outside the United States are nowhere as expensive as domestic prices.

But it’s not that simple to calculate.

The comparisons and prices are based on figures available on StubHub late Friday afternoon.

For our non-scientific look at ticket prices for available seats, we searched StubHub using the filter for the lowest price offered for one ticket no matter where it is in the stadium. Clearly, the lowest priced ticket will not get you on the field near Swift and her musicians and dancers.

We used this methodology for each night of the remaining North American tour dates in each city. Prices varied per night. Prices also are a moving target. As soon as someone takes the offer and buys a ticket it’s removed from play and a new high or low is established. (If you filter based on best view, tickets are most often much higher priced — by thousands.)

So here’s what we know for sure. Almost.

Canada is less expensive than the U.S. — even for the closing three nights of the tour in December. The average lowest ticket price over Swift’s three-night engagement at BC Place Stadium is $1,490.

In the United States the most expensive city based on these figures Friday when talking about the average lowest price per night is Indianapolis at $2,109 compared to Miami at $2,053 and New Orleans at $1,754.

But if you then probe more and look at the highest price for a single ticket, then Miami, at more than $10,000, tops the other U.S. cities with Indianapolis and New Orleans trailing. And the most expensive highest price ticket was marked at over $14,000 for the closing night of the entire tour on Dec. 8 in Vancouver.

Here’s what we learned and one thing we can say for certain: Florida has the distinction of being the only city to get a song all to itself on Swift’s newest album, “The Tortured Poets Department.” She has added a new Eras set devoted to the album for the remaining tour.
