7 adults and children sent to hospital as trauma patients after Miami Gardens house fire

A house fire on Wednesday afternoon sent seven adults and children to Ryder Trauma Center, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said.

Fire-rescue didn’t have a breakdown of how many of the trauma alert patients from the house in the 2400 block of Northwest 159th Street were children and how many were adults. Over 20 units responded to the 12:53 p.m. call and had the fire out by 1:30 p.m.

The cause of the fire is unknown, and under investigation MDFR said.

County property records and homestead filings say resident Lisa Hanshaw has owned the house since 2003.
