She says she slipped in a poop-filled shower in a Miami Gardens hotel. She wants $30,000
A Broward County guest staying at Stadium Hotel says she got a fecal surprise when taking a shower on vacation and then slipped and fell. Now, she’s suing the hotel for more than $30,000.
On March 5, Peggy Joseph was a guest at the Miami Gardens hotel, at 21485 NW 27th Ave., the lawsuit said. She went into the bathroom, turned on the shower and got into the tub.
While shampooing her hair, she felt a grainy, squishy substance underneath her foot, the suit says. She looked down and was “horrified and disgusted” to see poop filling her tub, the lawsuit says.
Trying to get out of the feces-filled bath, Joseph stepped in it, slipped and fell, the suit says, adding that she sustained “permanent bodily injury.”
Joseph is seeking damages in excess of $30,000.
“Stadium Hotel is responsible for the maintenance and timely repair of any hazards on their premises,” attorneys John Morgan and Andres Hermida said. “During Peggy Joseph’s stay, we allege the hotel negligently failed to use reasonable care and implement policies that could have prevented the foreseeable sewage system backup — and the resulting disgusting and traumatizing events that caused our client’s injuries.”
Stadium Hotel was not able to immediately comment on the lawsuit.
