Miami Gardens boy collapses at city summer camp, later dies

A 10-year-old boy attending a municipal summer camp in Miami Gardens on Wednesday morning collapsed and later died.

Dajon Mullings collapsed about 11 a.m. at Scott Park, 17710 NW 15th Ct.. He died after arriving at Jackson North Medical Center.

Miami Gardens police haven’t determined why Dajon suddenly collapsed.

“We’re speaking right now with the camp counselors and everyone who saw the juvenile,” police spokesman Michael Wright said.

Wednesday night’s Miami Gardens City Council meeting began with a moment of silence for Dajon and condolences to his family.
