Miami Gardens hosting family festival to kick off week of health-focused events
As the summer starts to wind down, Miami Gardens is kicking off a week of healthy events for residents and families with the “Healthy in the Gardens” Festival.
The free event is set for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Rolling Oaks Park, 18701 NW 17th Ct., and will feature health screenings, back-to-school giveaways, food and music. The week of healthy events follows events like the HangOut Day hosted by two former football players earlier this summer and the city’s partnership with the Worldwide Day of Play in 2015.
The week of health-related events will go through Aug. 14 and includes Zumba classes, a fitness walk, lunch and learn meals and several other activities.
