Miami Gardens police have a mystery on their hands.

After they got a call about gunshots near Sun Life Stadium, where the Miami Dolphins play, they found an abandoned shot-up car in the middle of the road.

Shortly after, they found another car nearby. This one had a man’s body inside, shot several times.

The drama started at 3:40 a.m. Thursday and stretched through the morning rush hour as investigators poked around the scene looking for clues. Police shut down a stretch of busy Northwest 27th Avenue for hours, shrouded the car with a tarp and wrapped the scene with yellow police tape.

The shot-up car was found on Northwest 191st Street and 27th Avenue and the car with the body was eight blocks north, said Michael Wright, spokesman for Miami Gardens police.

Wright said police are investigating whether the two scenes are related.

The dead man was apparently a passenger. Police took the uninjured driver into custody for questioning.

Unlike the abandoned car less than a mile away, the car with the body did not have any visible gunshots, Wright said.

Wright said an argument at an adult club might be related to the shooting.

Miami Gardens police also were called to a deadly shooting Wednesday night on Northwest 191st Street and 33rd Avenue. Wright said he did not have information on that shooting.
