Miami Beach police arrived at Miami Beach’s Metropolitan Hotel Tuesday to find hair on the floor of Colombian national soccer team player Pablo Armero's hotel room and the mother of two of his children missing hair above her forehead. Armero said his significant other asked him to cut her hair.

“Why would I ask him to cut my hair?!” the woman wailed to police while crying hysterically, according to the arrest affidavit.

Armero remained in Miami-Dade County Jail on a misdemeanor battery-domestic violence charge Wednesday morning.

Here’s what police say the parties told them:

Armero told police the couple went out drinking Monday night. Upon returning, he told police, the woman asked him to cut her hair.

The woman told police after the couple’s alcohol indulgences, they returned to the hotel room where Armero wanted to follow up with physical indulgences. She said she was too tired. Armero, she told police, displayed his anger by grabbing a set of hotel hair clippers, pulling out her extensions and “forcefully began to trim her hair, by the top of the head, above her forehead” the arrest affidavit read.

She told police this incident, after a history of domestic violence between them, was too much for her.

Armero plays his club soccer in Italy’s Serie A for Udinese.
