Traffic rerouted on Venetian Causeway until gas leak checked out
Traffic is temporarily being rerouted from the Venetian Causeway because of a now-capped gas leak on San Marco Island.
A homeowner on the 1200 block of North Venetian Way was spending his Saturday morning planting palm trees in his front yard until his Bobcat hit a one-inch gas pipe, according to Miami Fire Rescue Captain Ignatius Carroll.
Seven units responded and capped the leak. Traffic was rerouted during the repairs and will remain disrupted until Tico Gas clears the scene.
