Miami Beach police say an embrace between two men led to a violent attack at a South Beach bar that was caught on surveillance video.

Now police are hoping to identify two men — one who can be seen striking one of the victims and wrapping his legs around the victim's head and another who police say may have information about the fight.

“There is no room for hate anywhere,” said Miami Beach spokesman Ernesto Rodriguez.

The incident happened March 14 at Whopper Bar, 1101 Washington Ave. Police say they are investigating the case as a felony battery.

According to police, Jordon Schaeffer and Eric Danko exchanged a kiss, which led to a fight. The video shows Schaeffer being thrown to the ground by a man in a black shirt. The fight lasts for about a minute.

Rodriguez said the aggressor had “some sort of training” because he put Schaeffer in several different holds.

Schaeffer and Danko later told police that the attackers called them “faggots.”

Police also are looking to identify a man in a white long-sleeve shirt who can be seen stopping others from breaking up the fight.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
