Volunteers to pick up trash on South Beach amid Spring Break mess
With Spring Break drawing big crowds to South Beach, cigarette butts, bottles and cans have been littering the sand since last weekend.
In response, several local groups have organized a 10-block beach clean up Saturday morning in South Beach to get rid of the large piles of garbage left behind by beach-goers.
Miami Beach Commissioner Michael Grieco, VolunteerCleanUp.org, Clean Up Miami Beach, and the Miami Beach Rotary Club are hosting the event where volunteers will pick up trash to keep the beach, dune and jetty clean. It starts at 10 a.m. at Fourth Street and Ocean Drive on the sand.

Free refreshments and four hours of community service will be offered for those volunteering in this event.
