Abraham Gittelson, leader in Jewish education for decades, dies at 87
Abraham Gittelson, the man considered the leader for Jewish education in Broward County for decades, died Friday of congestive heart failure at a nursing home. Gittelson, of North Miami Beach, was 87.
“In Dade and Broward County, Abe was considered the most respected Jewish educator, period,” said Michelle Rapchik-Levin, a high school Holocaust and Israel history teacher at the David Posnack Jewish Day School in Davie.
