Mayor receives ICON award from Miami Jewish Health Systems
Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine received the ICON award from Miami Jewish Health Systems on Jan. 8.
The organization gives this award to those “whose efforts have positively impacted South Florida with a lifelong commitment to giving back and making a lasting impression in the community,” according to a statement.
Elayne Wiesburd, ICON Award Chair and the first female Commissioner in the city of Miami Beach, presented the award to Levine.
The mayor was recognized for his work on the board of directors of Best Buddies International, a Miami-based nonprofit that works with people with developmental disabilities, and for his work in Clinton Global Initiative, among other involvement in local philanthropic organizations.
