Boat mast strikes power line near Venetian Causeway

A boat mast struck a power line Sunday morning near the Venetian Causeway in Miami Beach, zapping power to Sunset Harbor and Belle Isle homes.

No one was hurt in the mishap, according to a Miami Beach Fire-Rescue dispatcher. The city says power was restored just after 9 a.m.

Police and fire vehicles as well as a Miami fire boat responded to the crash near Maurice Gibb Park.
