Pedestrian struck and killed on Alton Road in Miami Beach

WHAT’S HAPPENING

▪ A woman crossing the street in Miami Beach is struck and killed early Wednesday morning by a pickup truck.

▪  The 68-year-old pedestrian was hit at Alton Road and 15th Street by a white GMC. She was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital where she died.

▪  The accident happened between 6:30 and 7 a.m.

▪ Both directions of Alton were shut down for several hours.

WHAT’S NEXT

▪  The driver remained on the scene. Investigators are trying to determine who was at fault.
