Surfside officer sent to hospital after crash with SUV
A Surfside police officer was taken to the hospital as a precaution Monday after his cruiser and an SUV collided.
The accident happened at about 4 p.m. on the corner of Harding Avenue and 93rd Street in Surfside.
Sgt. Jay Matelis said the crash was under investigation and it was not clear who was at fault.
The driver of the SUV was not injured. Matelis said the officer was expected to be OK.
