Miami Beach police are investigating a report of a young girl being molested Sunday evening in a portable bathroom just off the beach.
According to police, a father was walking with his four children around 6:30 p.m. near the beach by North Shore Open Space Park, about 79th Street, when he noticed one of them was missing.
When the father began looking for his daughter, he saw a man walking out of the bushes holding hands with the girl. The father called out to his child and the man took off running toward Collins Avenue. The father chased the man for a while, following him north on Collins. He was last seen heading west toward Harding Avenue between 79th and 80th streets.
The girl told police the man held a knife to her and led her to a portable toilet at a construction site between the park and Altos Del Mar, a small gated community fronting the sand.
