Three-foot pothole closes northbound Collins Avenue just south of Fontainebleau hotel
Northbound traffic along Collins Avenue in Miami Beach hit a roadblock in Mid Beach Wednesday afternoon after a three-foot pothole opened up in the middle of the road around 43rd Street just below the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel.
Beach police are diverting traffic at 41st Street as public works crews examine the hole and determine what caused it.
City spokeswoman Nannette Rodriguez said no utilities have been affected, and it will likely take workers some time to figure out what happened and how to fix it.
"We'll probably have a closure for a good part of the evening," she said.
