Bass Museum receives $1 million gift

In celebration of its 50th anniversary, the Bass Museum of Art in Miami Beach got a hefty present: a $1 million donation.

Diane and Alan Lieberman, art collectors and owners of the hotel company South Beach Group, made the gift. The money will be used for contemporary art exhibitions and educational programs.

The donation was made public Saturday at the museum’s gala. The Bass, at 2100 Collins Ave., will undergo an internal expansion starting next year.
