‘Unacceptable incitement:’ Woman spews antisemitic remarks in South Beach, video shows
A woman was caught on tape spewing antisemitic remarks in South Beach.
The video, captured by people inside of a car, shows a woman clad in a red shirt shouting across the street as people walk by. Hallandale Beach Vice Mayor Anabelle Lima-Taub shared the recording on Facebook on Saturday.
“You guys are taking our f---ing money, bastards,” the woman shouted. “Hitler should’ve f---ing finished the job. He knew what the f--- he was doing.”
After the tirade, the woman walks away, pushing a baby stroller.
“This vile behavior while lugging around her kids in Miami Beach is of great concern,” Lima-Taub said on Facebook. “Every elected official should stand up to this unacceptable incitement. Accountability is forth coming.”
The incident is just one of many across the country amid a spike in antisemitic, anti-Arab and Islamophobic sentiments since the beginning of the Israel-Hamas war.
The comments came after tensions flared between pro-Israel and pro-Palestinian protesters in Lummus Park and parts of Ocean Drive. Around a thousand pro-Palestinian protesters gathered to call for a ceasefire and to demand that South Florida officials stop purchasing Israeli bonds.
At least 11,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since Israel’s retaliation after the Oct. 7 attack by militant group Hamas, according to the Associated Press. More than 1,200 Israelis were killed in Hamas’ attack.
