A Miami Beach gala raised money Monday night to back safety net programs that support the Jewish community in Miami, Israel and across the world.

More than 900 donors and guests, including Israel’s former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, were expected to attend The Main Event, the largest single fundraiser in Miami-Dade County’s Jewish community.

Each year, the federation says it raises tens of millions of dollars to fund local partner agencies, services and schools in Miami-Dade and nationwide.

“The mission of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation is to mobilize human and financial resources to care for those in need, strengthen Jewish life and advance the unity, values and shared purpose of the Jewish people in Miami, in Israel and around the world,” the organization said in a news release.
