One quick phone call can now give you a weather and beach conditions update for Miami Beach.

Miami Beach Ocean Rescue has launched a hotline for a daily update on conditions at the beach. Dial 305-673-7714 to listen to a recorded message in English or Spanish with current conditions.

The update includes times for high and low tides, water temperature, high and low for air temperature, wind speeds and the color of warning flags flying at lifeguard stands and what they mean.

“We feel this information will help our citizens and visitors to better prepare for their beach day and ultimately have a safe and enjoyable day on our beautiful beaches,” said Miami Beach Ocean Rescue Chief Vincent Canosa in a news release.

According to the Ocean Rescue, the message will be updated daily at 8 a.m. Callers can also speak to a live representative from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Sunday. Live surf information is also available online at www.beach.fiu.edu.
